When Aaron first lost his job we applied for unemployment. We received the forms and mailings they send out, signed what was needed and returned everything. They even sent us the bank card they use to give out the payments. We ended up getting a letter saying we weren't eligible. So, Aaron called (and was on hold for literally two hours) and was told we had to wait until the first of May to file. Okay. We refiled and were denied again. This time they said Aaron only earned one paycheck while we were in Denver. He actually received thirteen, and we had the W2 to prove it. So we decided to appeal. After a week or so we received a letter stating we were now eligible, and we mailed back the required form. Two weeks went by without hearing anything. I'm starting to really stress at this point because we only had enough money left to pay two bills at the beginning of the month, and nothing else. Aaron decides to try again with unemployment. To do anything online he needed to use the pin they assigned him. We couldn't find it anywhere. I knew it was in our room somewhere, but for some reason it refused to be found. Aaron decided to request a new pin... this was Tuesday. Yesterday we get a call from Colorado State unemployment verifying that Aaron requested a new pin. The gentleman said that our file was closed, which it should not have been. He reopened it and found that everything went through and we're FINALLY going to be able to receive unemployment (after 3 months of trying). And the best part? We get to receive backpay for the past three weeks that we were actually eligible but they goofed on their end. And we'll be receiving the money Monday. Talk about an answer to desperate prayer. I don't know why the Lord sees fit to bless us as much as He has, but I do know that I'm incredibly grateful.
"...and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven, and pour out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." -Malachi 3:10
